How To Choose Colours For Your Scrapbooking Layout

When creating a scrapbooking layout, one of the things to think about is what colours to use. This can be the colours for your background paper, your embellishments or the cardstock that you use for matting your photos.

There are a few ways that you can go about choosing what colours to use.

You can look at the photos that you are about to scrapbook and choose a colour from the photo to be your focus.

To choose a cardstock for matting your photos, it can be useful to lay the photos on different shades of cardstock to see which one makes them pop the most.

Another way to choose colours is to use a colour wheel.  A colour wheel shows the relationship between primary, secondary and tertiary colours. It can be used to easily choose complementary or contrasting colours.

Perhaps one of the easiest ways to choose the colours for your layout is to use co-ordinating papers from a set as you will be assured that papers from the set will go together.

One piece of advice, choose the colour combination that pleases your eye the most!  There is no right or wrong just what makes you happy!!
