At the start of the new year, we feel inspired and think that we can achieve anything with a whole new year ahead of us.
Whilst we are feeling this motivation, setting goals for the year ahead can be a great way to start the year off right.
Goal setting can keep you motivated, keep you on track and focused as well as give you a sense of achievement when you reach your goals.
Many people use the SMART method to track their goals. This means that you make sure your goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and timed.
You need to make your goal very specific and ensure that you can measure it with a physical outcome. Do not set a goal that is going to be too big or unachievable as this will be disheartening. And make sure you that you set a timeline of when you will achieve your goal by so that you can set to work achieving it.
Write down your goals and put them somewhere that you can see them every day so that they stay front of mind.
It is also okay if you need to re-visit your goals during the year and make adjustments to them!
