    Instructions

To start off I die cut the Uniquely Creative Round Tree Window dies, using the rectangle die on white cardstock and die cutting the tree window from the middle.

I then stamped the emu and antlers on white cardstock using Gina K Amalgam black ink, colouring with my Altenew Artist Markers and then fussy cutting out.

Using the Altenew Artist Markers again I coloured the tree window die-cut, creating a red border for a Christmas colour and making a gnarled, leafless tree, which you would find in the Aussie desert. I also glued the antlers on to the emu’s head.

I wanted a nice blue sky for the background (since an Aussie Christmas is all about the sunshine), so I blended Distress Inks ‘Salty Ocean’, ‘Mermaid Lagoon’ and ‘Stormy Sky to make a blue ombre effect.

Using a mixture of white foam and foam tape I was able to hold the tree window die-cut in place in the panel and pop it up on the card front. I also glued the emu into place.

To finish off, I cut one of the kit sentiment strips and put it on foam tape within the window. I then white heat embossed a sentiment from the kit stamp set on a strip of black cardstock and put it on foam tape, along with some Uniquely Creative enamel dots for embellishment.

I absolutely love this card Shona, it’s a real Aussie Card. I love the Emu popping his head up.
